Chobe Boat Cruises: Chobe boat cruises are an amazing way to experience the best of Botswana. You can get up close to large herds of game that are abundant in the Chobe National Park. They tend to make their way to the river and onto the islands in the river to feast on the sweet grass. Puku and lechwe antelopes are common on the Chobe floodplains. Here, there is the highest concentration of elephants in the world and herds of elephants frequently cross the Chobe River. Hippos and crocodiles like to bask in the sun next to the water. You can alo see buffalo and giraffe and other plains game. Lucky visitors might see leopards and lions!
Chobe Game viewing: Chobe is renowed for its excellent wildlife viewing opportunities, especially for elephant herds that come down to the river for drinking or eating.
Chobe National Park: Chobe National Park is a true wildlife paradise and one of the best national parks in Southern Africa. Chobe takes its name from the Chobe River. The Chobe River forms the northern boundary and protects about 11700 square km. Its vegetation varies from lush floodplains to the scorched Savuti marbesh. Chobe is a classic big game country where herds of buffalo and elephant attain legendary proportions. The northern part of Chobe lies next to the Chobe River: this road along the river allows for excellent game viewing in an off-road vehicle. Large raptors are nesting close to the Chobe river, and water birds are abundant and migrating birds.
Victoria Falls: Victoria Falls presents a spectacular sight of awe-inspiring beauty and grandeur on the Zambezi River, forming the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. It was described by the Kololo tribe living in the area in the 1800s as ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya’ – ‘The Smoke that Thunders’. In more modern terms Victoria Falls is known as the greatest curtain of falling water in the world. Columns of spray can be seen from miles away as, at the height of the rainy season, more than five hundred million cubic meters of water per minute plummet over the edge, over a width of nearly two kilometres, into a gorge over one hundred meters below.
